EFCC boss Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, ostensibly abuses Abubakar Sidiq Usmans inherent right to free speech
Freedom of speech in Nigeria and trumpt up charges.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday (8th August 2016) arrested the blogger Abubakar Sidiq Usman, for offences bordering on cyber stalking. However, reports say Sidiq’s arrest was as a result of a post he published on his blog, abusidiqu.com titled: “EFCC boss, Magu, commences total war with core EFCC staff”.

He is accused of using the internet to extort influential people through blackmail (when he finds ‘dirt on them’). While other allege that the EFCC boss, Ibrahim Mustafa Magu is just using his power to bully the young man for writing a negative piece about him.

He was granted bail and released yesterday (9th August 2016). However, since his release, Abubakar Sidiq has been spiting fire! Exercising his constitutional right to publish on his blog (freedom of speech).
